We hear everywhere how promising the IT sphere is. But if we start digging a little further and come across reviews/stories of real people, we see three types:

Optimists. Positive, friendly, idealizing the profession and simplifying the entry threshold. Perhaps for them everything really was simpler (the material was easy to learn, there were good vacancies, etc.). Or because of their perception of the world as a whole - a 3-month unpaid internship became an invaluable experience, and overtime as an opportunity to grow and become better. It is worth listening to such stories if you yourself know how to find advantages in all situations. Otherwise, you can be disappointed.

Realists. They will recommend you to try, not to be afraid. But they will warn you about all sorts of difficulties - after all, success is achieved by hard-working guys. They will share their story without embellishment, but in the end, in any case, they will lead you to the conclusion that it was worth it.

On our website you can find a separate page with stories of TMS graduates. How they came to this, how many days/months they looked for a job and what they are doing now - read here .

And pessimists. Everything is bad for them. The format social media marketing service of work, clients, salary, requirements, tasks, projects. When you read such reviews, you wonder why people still haven't left the industry or who keeps them in slavery. And the worst thing is that they mostly have a negative attitude towards newcomers. Especially towards those who didn't come from an IT university.

If you have come across reviews from such guys and doubted your desire to discover a new profession, then here we will cover the topic of those very disadvantages in IT in more detail. Since we also read their stories and identified the top 5 main disappointments that await you (or not). You

need to constantly learn

. Everyone needs to, if you want to grow and advance not only on the career ladder, but also on a personal level.

On the plus side, you master the basics of a new profession in just a year and then study part-time while working and receiving a salary. And before, we spent 4-5 years attending lectures at the university, working part-time in some catering establishment. Is it worth mentioning doctors, who spend an average of about 9 years on training?

And yes, advanced training, additional courses, scientific discoveries occur in almost all professions. We live in a post-industrial society, where changes in any area of our lives come quickly and are also quickly replaced by new ones.

A sedentary lifestyle and harm to health

It is difficult to argue with this argument. How long have we been leading a sedentary lifestyle? Two or three centuries? Since the beginning of the industrial revolution. For thousands of years, our ancestors hunted mammoths, worked in the fields, built civilizations. With their hands. Not informationally. These people may not have had osteochondrosis, but they had enough troubles without it.

It so happened that our body has not yet gotten used to the new lifestyle. And yes, sitting at the computer for 8 hours is harmful. But the fact is that many people work like this. And not just IT specialists. One of the advantages is that many IT companies have medical insurance (including therapeutic massage) and compensation for sports. Use it to your health!

Well, in general, try to take breaks every 30-45 minutes. Go get some water, talk to colleagues about work issues outside the Internet. Your body will be grateful even for such little things.

Routine and the lack of visible results

The set of habitual actions from day to day allows us to get along in society. We brush our teeth in the morning, celebrate the same holidays every year, re-watch our favorite movies.

And at work, we often repeat what we did yesterday. The teacher explains a paragraph again, just like a year ago to another class, the doctor sees patients, the artist paints a picture, the actor rehearses his role, the call center specialist answers calls... All these people can get tired of their work at some point. Therefore, the Labor Code provides for vacation, and there is also such a concept as leisure. Your day will not resemble Groundhog Day if you decide to go to a pottery master class or find another hobby.

Routine depresses you. Perhaps it is burnout? Or maybe you are not doing what your heart desires? Absolutely everything depends on you.

As for the visible result, millions of users of the application to which you had a hand definitely see and feel it.

Lack of personal life

If you go to dating sites, you will notice that people working in the IT sphere will definitely point this out. Why? Do they nobly demonstrate their shortcomings right away? Or do people associate working in the IT sphere with stability, a good salary and prospects? The answer is the latter.

But the lack of emotional intelligence, fortunately, again does not depend on work. Relationships are a socio-economic union that literally makes our lives easier. And psychologically too (if these are healthy relationships, of course). To enter into such a union, you need to invest emotionally, and not blame the job.

Annoying clients/colleagues

A few calls with possibly unpleasant clients really do take place. Sometimes the customer does not know what he wants, but rejects all ideas. Or he knows what he wants. But these are his personal desires, and not the interests of the business. Your idea can be rejected, criticized, changed. But you do not have to give it up if you believe in its success. The only question is how convincing you are.

And if we raise the topic of unpleasant clients, then the probability of meeting them in the service sector is higher - more than 60% of workers occupy this niche. And they encounter dozens of people every day.
